Nearly 60 people sick due to carbon monoxide poisoning at LDS Church Sunday

Health officials are warning Utahns to make sure they have a working carbon monoxide detectors after exposure to the gas left nearly 60 people needing treatment.

Dr. Lindell Weaver of Intermountain Mountain Center also say that furnaces need to be checked annually to make sure they aren't putting out dangerous levels of the gas.

Carbon monoxide exposure at a Provo LDS meetinghouse led to 59 people being treated Sunday.

Two-dozen of those affected required a high-flow oxygen treatment to help reduce the risk of brain-related injury.
