Health officials are reporting an uptick in respiratory infections in Utah.

Intermountain Healthcare said they're seeing more cases of the respiratory syncytial [[ sin-SISH-uhl ]] virus, which is now considered to be at moderate to high levels.

Doctors say RSV can cause cold-like symptoms, but may also include wheezing or rapid breathing.

If left untreated, the virus can lead to more serious ailments like bronchiolitis and pneumonia.

Doctors say infants and the elderly are most at risk for contracting RSV.
