Past Washington County Commissioner, Dean Jeffrey Cox dies at 65

Dean Jeffrey Cox, who recently stepped down as Washington County Commissioner died last night from complications due to cancer.  He has left behind his wife LaRene, his children and grandchildren. 

Cox has been a solid figure in the Washington County community since 1991 where he started as Emergency Services Director.  He served as chair on many boards and nonprofits and for many years was actively involved in Search and Rescue activities in Washington county and most recently as Washington County Commissioner. His 30 years of service made a wonderful impact on our community.

Cox’s sister Jan Halter left a beautiful message on his face book page last night.

This sweet brother of mine just walked through those Pearly Gates with complete triumph, vigor, integrity and a howling sense of humor. Heaven just scored a great win!!

Dean Cox was 65.
