Ribbon Cutting of the Washington County Court Support Services Building

ST. GEORGE, Utah – Washington County is holding a ribbon cutting ceremony for its Court Support Services Building, located at 251 North 200 East, St. George (immediately east of the St. George City Commons Building), on Monday, October 19, 2020, at 3:30 pm.  Immediately following the ribbon cutting, there will be an open house (building walk through). We invite all to attend.

The building was originally constructed in 1993 as the State operated Washington County Juvenile Detention & Crisis Center. Because the state recently moved its youth services to the Washington County Youth Center, 330 South 5300 West Hurricane, ownership was transferred to the County and a remodel was completed.

The Washington County Court Support Services division of the County Attorney’s Office will operate multiple criminal justice programs out of the building including Pretrial Supervision, Pretrial Clinical Services, and Probation Case Management. Additionally, a substation will be housed for the Washington County Sherriff’s Office to run its Drug Testing Center for all specialty court participants as well as county probationers from the building.

Washington County Maintenance Department and Public Works Department provided direct services and oversight of the contracted services for the building remodel project. Nicholle Felshaw, Washington County Administrator, served as project manager.  The Washington County Attorney’s Office thanks these departments and individuals as well as the local contractors for their excellent work.
