SLC one of the top cities for African American home ownership

Salt Lake City is one of the top cities in the U.S. for African American home ownership.

Personal finance company LendingTree ranked the 50 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. using data from the Census Bureau.

While less than two-percent of Salt Lake City's population identifies as African American, 59-percent own homes.

That placed Salt Lake City third overall in the ranking behind the California cities of San Jose and Los Angeles.
