The Val A. Browning library at DSU:
located nearly in the center of campus, is said to have a friendly ghost who visits at night. A librarian there, said she has heard talk about a "nice little lady" with a long sleeved, high collared white shirt and black skirt who occasionally sits at the reference desk late at night.
The Mountain Meadow massacre is a tragic story of a group of settlers that were brutally murdered on their way to California.
Some visitors to the site say they can hear the cries of the victims being carried on the wind as they feel a horrible wave of sadness overcome them.
The Seven Wives Inn in St. George was built in the 1870’s to hide polygamists from the law. Guests say they get strong feelings of creepiness while at the hotel and that objects are moved from place to place on their own. Some question if the spirits of the original owner’s seven wives are still visiting the rooms that are named after each of them.
The Hardy House also known as the Mystery Escape House A shadowy ghost has been seen here.
Silver Reef Museum in Leeds. The papers exist today from two unlikely sources: the Catholic priest serving the area and a Mormon bishop in St. George. Both saved copies of the newspaper which have proven priceless for historians such as Dr. Skylar. “Because of the papers we know about gun fights, local businesspeople and even a lawyer with a bad temper,” he said.
With Halloween happening tomorrow, many people tend to think about ghosts and other spooky things. Here’s a short list of some of local haunted places here in Southwest Utah…

SUU in Cedar City is said to be very haunted and many ghost stories have been told by both Faculty members and students.
A common Occurrence is a piano playing ghost who likes to play ‘Deep Purple’ in the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery. Another musical Ghost at the SUU campus named Virginia is said to play flute music
And lights in the building turn themselves on and off and most students and staff don’t like to spend time in the building after dark.
Betty’s Café, formally known as the Brick House is located on Main Street in Cedar City. Employees speak of a very active within the old home who has been seen late at night wearing a plaid shirt.
