St. George Art Museum to host free community pot throw at Recreation Center Feb. 7
The St. George Art Museum is hosting a free community pot throw February 7 at 4 p.m. inside the St. George Recreation Center at 285 South 400 East, in anticipation of the museum’s 19th annual Soup N’ Bowl fundraising event in March.
Amateur potters as well as those who have never put clay on a wheel are invited to join in the fun. There will also be information available on upcoming ceramic and clay creation classes, which begin in May.
The Soup N’ Bowl fundraiser will take place a little less than a month following the community pot, at the historic Social Hall in the Pioneer Center for the Arts March 6.
The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will include an all-you-can-eat soup and bread and a ceramic pot of your choice for $20 per person.
There will also be a silent auction for funds to purchase art for the museum’s permanent collection.
For more information about either event or to purchase tickets now on sale, stop by the St. George Art Museum or call 435-627-4525.
