St. George Interfaith Council to hold “Prayer Over the City” program

All of St George are invited to bring in 2020 with St George Interfaith Council

Each year the St George Interfaith Council holds a "Prayer Over the City" program at noon on New Year's Day in the St George Tabernacle.

This one-hour program begins with music by the Interfaith Choir and prayer by religious leaders in St George.

Each prayer is focused on a specific topic such as families, military, first responders, etc.

Church leaders come from 17 local churches, including Grace Episcopal Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Good Shepherd Presbyterian, Community of Christ, Baha’I Fellowship, Shepherd of the Hills Methodist Church, Solomon’s Porch Foursquare Fellowship and others.

For 2020, offered prayers will include one by a Buddhist, a Muslim and a Sikh…amazing diversity here in St George.
