After the shootings that have been happening in the US lately Andy Griffin talked to St. George Police officers Tiffany Atkin and Lt. Heppler.  They talked about what you can do in an active shooter situation to keep yourself safe.

Heppler explains that you need to think about what to do in a scary situation before it ever happens.



Heppler explains the first thing you should try to do in a bad situation.



Atkin recommends practicing it in your head.



The next thing Heppler recommends it to Cover and Hide.



And last if you can’t run or hide you may have to fight Heppler explains what that means.



Both Atkin and Heppler highly recommend you prepare yourself ahead of time for these kinds of situations.

Gov. Cox has authorized the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the flag of the state of Utah on all state facilities in accordance with President Joe Biden's proclamation honoring the victims of the shooting in Boulder, Colorado, which occurred on Monday, March 22.

The directive is effective from sunset, March 23, 2021 to sunset, March 27, 2021. Private citizens and businesses are encouraged to participate as well.
