The state is going to require any off-road vehicle coming from another state to be registered in Utah before allowing it to be used.

The Department of Natural Resources said in a Facebook post yesterday that ATVs, side by sides, snowmobiles and other vehicles designed to be used off the highway will have to purchase a non-resident off-highway vehicle permit beginning January 1st.

The money raised through the program will go toward trail maintenance and upkeep, education and facility development.
