Students and Adults Exposed to Pepper Spray
Nineteen children and adults are being treated at a hospital, after being exposed to pepper spray Monday afternoon at Park City High School.
Student Jesse Helton says he started feeling the effects when he walked in the building.
Helton said it felt like needles in his lungs, or chlorine in his throat. School officials first thought it was a gas leak.
A school officer later announced the cause was some pepper spray released by a student.
Park City Fire District spokesperson Tricia Hazelrigg says the only information she has about the pepper spray incident is from the student who admitted to spraying it.
