Utah taxpayers are getting an extension on the deadline to pay state income and business taxes.

The board of the Utah State Tax Commission voted yesterday to move the deadline for filing to July 15th, mirroring the filing deadline for federal taxes.

The board did not make any decision on extending the deadline to file state sale taxes, saying the governor might have to call a special session of the legislature for that to happen.

The board also said that income tax refunds are being handled quickly and urged taxpayers to file as soon as they can do so.
