Two homeless people beaten and doused with gasoline

Two homeless people are recovering in the hospital after they were beaten and doused with gasoline in South Salt Lake. 

Police say the two men were attacked by a man and a woman Tuesday night after they were invited to an apartment building near 39th South and Fifth West. 

According to officers, the suspects got mad over a missing gun and then called three other men over who then helped beat the victims, pistol whipping them both and hitting them with the butt of shotgun. 

They then doused them in gasoline and threatened to burn them alive. 

The suspects have not been identified.
