Utahns with an interest in history and a desire to help preserve it may want to check out a call for help from the state's Division of Archives and Records Service.

The agency is currently looking for volunteers to help transcribe historic documents from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The department uses an online tool that allows volunteers to see the original document and then write a transcription for submission.

More information about the program is available online by going to archives.utah.gov and typing the word "transcribe" into the search tool.
