Utah lawmakers think it's time to completely reopen the state. 

Senate President Stuart Adams said that data supports the idea that Utah can handle any spike in COVID-19 cases if it moves to the lowest risk or green phase of reopening.

Adams said measures such as social distancing and wearing face masks would continue to be encouraged.

But Adams also said that moving to green would allow more Utah businesses to reopen and help the state economy move forward. 

The legislature's Public Health and Economic Emergency Commission voted yesterday to move Utah to the green phase, and the recommendation now goes to Governor Herbert.
