Washington County woman finds nails on Anasazi Trail

A Washington county resident, Sedona Arabella, was hiking the Anasazi trail over the weekend and came across what she described as Booby traps on the trail.  She reports that she found nails and screws designed to damage tires, feet and paws.  She picked up what she could find and says she will be returning to search for more.  She hopes anyone that goes out to the area will look out for the nails and screws to be safe.  She has contacted both Police and the BLM.  We will have more on the story later along with photos on our Facebook and website 890KDXU

The BLM responded to this report in an email, "The BLM is grateful for members of the public who use trails responsibly and to those who help us maintain our trails. We ask that people recreating on public lands be mindful of others, use good safety practices, practice situational awareness, and follow Leave No Trace principles. This incident is currently under investigation and the BLM does not comment on the details of any pending investigations."
