A true fish story from Flaming Gorge Reservoir

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is certifying a big fish caught at Flaming Gorge Reservoir as a record setter.

DWR announced yesterday that the 48-inch lake trout caught May 4th by Matt Smiley of Fairplay, Colorado was a state record.

Smiley caught the fish and then released it back into the waters of the reservoir.

Wildlife Resources says the fish was not weighted to avoid keeping it out of the water any longer than necessary.
