Advocacy group pushing to expand Medicaid
A health advocacy group is pushing state leaders to immediately expand Medicaid as approved by Utah voters in 2018 under Proposition Three.
Earlier this year, the Utah Legislature replaced the ballot initiative, limiting the number of people who could qualify for the expansion.
However, late Friday state leaders were told by the Trump administration they would not be granted a waiver seeking a 90-ten federal match.
In a statement, the Utah Health Policy Project says the backup plan under the replacement bill in case the waiver was rejected was the full expansion of Medicaid as previously approved.
