BYU Idaho reverses course on Medicaid from students
Brigham Young University-Idaho has reversed course on its plan to stop accepting Medicaid from students.
Last night, BYU-I sent students an email, retracting the LDS Church-owned school's new policy that would force students to get insurance from a private provider or through the university.
BYU-I also apologized for the "turmoil" caused by the earlier decision.
The change came after hundreds-of-students vocally criticized the new policy, with many saying they could not afford to pay for other coverage, and some saying the choice would force them to drop out of school.
