A judge is dismissing a claim by former Utah Attorney General John Swallow seeking reimbursement for thousands of dollar legal fees.

The decision in U.S. District Court in Salt Lake City will keep Swallow from getting back over 90-thousand-dollars he paid to lawyers defending him against charges filed by the Federal Election Commission.

The FEC case was eventually thrown out, leading Swallow to file for reimbursement.

The judge said the FEC was not acting in bad faith in filing the charges against Swallow, so the former attorney general could not be reimbursed.
