Damage and power outages due to wind storm
Utah Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox says the damage from a wind storm that roared through the state yesterday is similar to a 2011 storm that struck Davis County.
Intermountain Healthcare reported that one person died as the result of injuries received in yesterday's storm but did not give details.
The National Weather Service said the most powerful gust of wind recorded yesterday was 99 miles an hour in Farmington, though several unofficial reports showed gusts of up to 112 miles an hour.
Rocky Mountain Power reported nearly 124-thousand customers without electricity last night and said it could be Thursday before most power is restored.
