Green Light Given to Higher Alcohol Beer

Utah Governor Gary Herbert is giving the green light to higher-alcohol beer in grocery and convenience stores.

Herbert signed Senate Bill 132 on Tuesday.

The law, which goes into effect November first, raises the state cap on retail beer from three-point-two-percent to four-percent alcohol.

It also increases the alcohol level for draft beer at restaurants and bars.
