Hurricane City Council says no to Chums

The Hurricane City Council has unanimously rejected a request to rezone a five-acre plot of land over concerns it could compromise the area's rural atmosphere.

  The request came from Chums, which manufactures eyewear retainers and outdoor accessories. 

Chums wanted to rezone the five acres from agricultural to industrial.

  Council members say it could open the door for other businesses to seek similar changes.
