Organizers of a protest of the Inland Port that resulted in eight arrests are not happy with claims by state and local leaders that they caused a riot.

Natasha Deininger says Governor Herbert's claim that Tuesday's protest was borderline terrorism is not true.

Other organizers said yesterday that their protest at the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce was peaceful and that police escalated the situation into violence.

Police have said they only used the level of force necessary to evict protesters from the building after they refused to leave.

State and local leaders have called on protesters to show civility going forward, in order to help each side in the inland port dispute find common ground.
