More protests over the weekend in St. George
St. George residents are continuing to show their support for Black Lives Matter as more protests were held over the weekend.
St. George Mayor Jon Pike made an appearance on Saturday's protest and said he can't fully understand what the black community feels, but he can do something about it now.
The mayor added that he would support legislation that would hold law enforcement more accountable and will ask the city council about hiring a civilian watchdog.
The protest went on strong and peacefully until the roughly two-hundred demonstrators were met with anti-protesters holding signs reading "
All Lives Matter," but it did not escalate any further.
