There may be no more important group in American than veterans. These brave men and women have sacrificed everything to ensure our country stays the land of the free.

Even after returning from their duty, veterans face a new challenge on the home front, and it's one that Arizona is trying to stop at all costs.

What is Stolen Valor?

After returning from their tours, veterans are given plenty of benefits as a thank you from us to them for their service to this country. Obviously, some will want to take these for themselves without putting in the work, and will pretend to have served to do so.

This not only scams businesses and the government out of resources they could use for actual veterans, but also makes a mockery of veterans as a whole. As such, Arizona has taken massive steps to stop this from happening ever again.

Arizona's History is Being Erased!!

The Master Sergeant Orlando Dona Valor Act

Introduced by decorated Army veteran and State representative Walt Blackman, HB2030, otherwise known as the "Master Sergeant Orlando Dona Valor Act" would make impersonating a veteran a criminal offense.

Anyone impersonating a Veteran will be hit with a Class 1 Misdemeanor, but penalties will climb depending on your offense. Using your false status to commit fraud of $10,000 or more will push you to a Class 4 Misdemeanor, and impersonating a veteran to help a political campaign will land you the same.

Strangely enough, despite overwhelming support, the bill has seen little motion, but hopefully the support from the public will push this bill further, faster.
