Boil your water, for the love of all that is holy BOIL YOUR WATER! Especially if you're living in the city of Diamond Valley, Utah. Diamond Valley has recently received a Boil Water Order for the residents after water samples have been collected and tested positive for E.coli.

The water company is currently chlorinating the water to clean it up and officials believe they're probably near the end of it. The Diamond Valley Water Company is providing bottled water to those who ask for it, if they need it. They're adamant that this isn't someone not doing their job, but instead "this stuff happens" from time to time.

CAN YOU SHOWER IF THE WATER IS INFECTED WITH E.COLI?

The short answer is no. However, it's still possible in some situations.  E.coli cannot be absorbed through the skin, but it can enter the body through the ears, nose or mouth. So if you do decide to to take a nice relaxing shower, plug those ears, don't let that water in your mouth or nose... or call a friend in another town and ask to shower there to be extra safe!

WAYS TO AVOID GETTING E.COLI:

Don't drink water from the toilet:

This seems to be pretty obvious, but once in a while people will decide to take a drink from the toilet. It's not a good idea.

Don't drink a glass of water If it has a log of poop in it:

This one is always surprising to people, but If you ever see a big poop just laying in your glass of water, you should ALWAYS avoid drinking it!

Keep your food prep areas clean:

We learned this in food class in high school, we need to always clean our food surfaces!

Cook and serve your food at the appropriate temperatures:

If you eat your burger with PINK on the inside, you deserve to get E.coli!
