State lawmakers hope to push proposed changes for Utah's medical cannabis law through the House today.

Senate Bill 121 is before a House committee this morning, but leaders in the Legislature say they want to get it on Governor Gary Herbert's desk by tomorrow so he can sign it before the new cannabis dispensary system begins operations next week.

Changes in the bill include raising patient caps for doctors, and clarification that public employees using medical cannabis are protected, while private employees are not.
