doctor hands with marijuana symbol medical concept

State officials are astounded as Utah's medical marijuana program's success has exceeded expectations. Department of Agriculture officials say no one had an idea as to the number of patients the state was going to see this early in the year, and that the number of patients exceeded all of their studies. Within only six months of becoming legal in the state, Utah's medical marijuana program has surpassed enrollment projections with about 10-thousand active cannabis patients, and this has led to shortages in product and providers. Officials were surprised to reach this many patients so early into the program, but they say it’s a good sign because it means less people are possessing medical cannabis illegally.
