State lawmakers have set aside funds to help promote a complete and accurate count for the 2020 census.

In last night's special session, the Legislature appropriated one-million dollars for promotional and outreach efforts.

Lawmakers said they hoped to encourage matching investments from cities and counties so that Utah would get its fair share in federal grants.

This all comes six months after the Legislature voted against setting aside extra money.
