Utah lawmakers will continue their virtual special session from locations around the state today. 

House Speaker Brad Wilson says it's important for state lawmakers to move quickly to adjust the state budget and take other action to help Utahns.

Lawmakers will continue to discuss issues related to the coronavirus pandemic as well as business left over from the end of last month's regular session. 

Members of the state Senate are expected to continue discussing a controversial bill that would require the governor to give 48 hours notice to the legislature before issuing some emergency orders. 

The Senate passed a bill last night that would form a commission to help reopen the state economy when the coronavirus emergency comes to an end.

State Representative Melissa Ballard of North Salt Lake became emotional as she talked about the personal impact COVID-19 has had on her family.
