Mayor Jon Pike to Resign and accept position on Governor-elect Spencer Cox’s Cabinet

Mayor Jon Pike has resigned from his position and will be Joining Governor elect Spencer Cox as the Commissioner of the Utah Insurance Department effective Jan. 4, 2021.

According to the City of St. George, Jon Pike was raised in Salt Lake City and received a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Utah and an MBA from Westminster College. Jon has worked in several positions with Intermountain Healthcare since 1990 – and since 1995 here in St. George on the City Council and in 2013 he was elected as Mayor of St. George.

Mayor Pike said of his new position with the Governor, “It is an honor to be thought of and selected by the governor-elect.”
