Two farms in Utah are the sources of the first confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the U.S. for mink. 

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Veterinary Services Laboratories announced that five minks were tested after an unusual number of animals had died at the farms. 

Officials for the USDA note that while other animals can get sick from COVID-19, there is currently no evidence to show they play a significant role in spreading it to humans.
