A study from Harvard and NPR is suggesting that Utah and eight other states could safely reopen by this Friday.

Researchers say only nine states are conducting enough COVID-19 tests to contain the outbreak and Utah is one of them.

Director of the Global Health Institute, Ashish Jha, says even if they are running enough tests, they must provide adequate contact tracing capabilities before reopening to help prevent new outbreaks.

Jha added that this should be considered the starting point as Utah had less than five-percent of its tests come back positive last week and met the recommended rate of ten-percent or lower.
