Red Rock Canyon School in St. George closes

A psychiatric treatment center for young people in Saint George is closing its doors. 

The Red Rock Canyon School was the scene of a riot in April. 

Police said 25 people were injured and five were hospitalized. 

One student received a large cut on the back of his head, and a staff member was charged with punching a female student in the face. 

Five people were booked into juvenile detention. 

Two lawsuits alleging sexual abuse by a staff member were filed in 2018.
