Revision to state tax code could be released tomorrow
Utah House Speaker Brad Wilson says a bill to revise the state tax code could be released by lawmakers as soon as tomorrow.
Wilson said yesterday that the proposal to change the state's current tax structure would benefit all Utahns in one way.
But the proposed bill will also increase the sales tax on food and create new taxes on some service businesses.
A public hearing on the tax proposal is set for Monday at the State Capitol.
Wilson said the bill is still undergoing last-minute tweaks.
