Romney supports raising legal age for tobacco to 21
Republican Senator Mitt Romney is joining a bipartisan group of lawmakers looking to raise the legal age for tobacco use to 21.
The Tobacco to 21 Act has been introduced in both the House and Senate, and would prohibit the use and sale of tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21 nationwide.
The legislation would also extend to e-cigarette products as well.
The Utah Legislature approved a bill earlier this year to incrementally raise the legal age to 21 year-by-year until July 2021.
