School District discouraging students from watching Netflix series
The Salt Lake City School District is strongly discouraging students from watching the Netflix series "13 Reasons Why."
The district sent a letter home to parents noting that the new season of the series debuted last week.
Organizations such as the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide have voiced concerns about the show's content, which deals with the aftermath of a young person's suicide.
The school district also encourages parents to have in-depth conversations with any of their children who have seen the series.
