Second man arrested for assaulting missionary

Police in Payson say they have arrested a second man in connection with the assault of a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Malachi Bay West was arrested yesterday after being identified from a photo lineup by the victim.

The black missionary from Panama was on his way to a home in Payson last month when he was surrounded by hooded suspects who punched him and knocked him to the ground.

Sebastian Francis West was arrested previously in connection with the attack, which is being investigated as a hate crime.
