Republican Senator Mitt Romney is formally uninvited from this year's Conservative Political Action Conference.

CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp made the official announcement, saying he feared for Romney's safety after he broke ranks with other Republicans and voted to impeach President Trump.

Over the weekend, Schlapp told Greta Van Susteren on her show "Full Court Press" the former Republican presidential candidate could come to a future CPAC as a "nonconservative" to debate an issue.
