Senator Romney hoping for 2020 Olympics to happen
Senator Mitt Romney is holding out hope that the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will go on, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
Romney, who was the president of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Winter Games, believes Japan could still allow the Summer Games to continue.
He says the Olympics could happen without spectators present depending on the situation with the pandemic come July.
Salt Lake City organizers weighed similar options for the 2002 Olympics following the September 11th terrorist attacks.
