Should hormone therapy on transgender youth be studied?

A bill that would study the effect of hormone therapy on transgender youth in Utah is heading for the floor of the state House.  The bill was approved by the House Health and Human Services Committee yesterday.  The bill originally called for an outright ban on hormone therapy for youth.  The language of the bill now calls for the Department of Health to find a contractor to conduct a study on the issue.
