St. George lawmaker proposing changes to concealed weapon permits

A Republican lawmaker from St. George wants Utah to drop its requirement that gun owners get a permit before carrying a concealed weapon. 

State Representative Walt Brooks introduced House Bill 472 Wednesday. 

He says he knows the bill is unlikely to pass this year but that he plans to introduce it again in 2021. 

A similar measure introduced in 2013 was vetoed by Governor Herbert.
