State leaders want to bring the Winter Olympics to Utah

State leaders hoping to bring the Winter Olympics back to Salt Lake City are expected to announce the formation of another committee to pursue the games.

This new committee will look to bring the Olympics to Utah in 2034 instead of 2030.

Last week, Sapporo, Japan announced it would officially bid to host the 2030 Games.

Backers in Salt Lake City believe that could hurt Utah's hopes, since Los Angeles is already slated to host the 2028 Summer Games.
