A suspect is under arrest in connection with the murders of nine members of a family in Mexico.

Three women and six children were shot and burned after their cars were attacked by a cartel Monday.

The victims had dual U.S. and Mexican citizenship and were part of a community a little south of the border.

Mexican law enforcement says a person was arrested Tuesday in the hills above Agua Prieta in the state of Sonora.

The suspect was heavily armed, police say, and was holding two bound and gagged hostages.

Kendra Miller, a relative of many of the victims, says the family is used to dealing with the cartels.
