Town of Alta virtually closed due to avalanche danger

The town of Alta is ordered to stay indoors this morning as the Utah Avalanche Center issued a High Avalanche Danger warning.

The Utah Department of Transportation has also closed Little Cottonwood Canyon for the same reason.

Officials say it's critical everyone stays indoors until they're told otherwise.

There's no estimated time for when people will be able to resume normal activities.
