Utah Boy Scout councils to merge
Utah's three Boy Scout councils will merge into a single body starting next month after the organization and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints severed ties.
The new Crossroads of the West Council will blend scouts from the Great Salt Lake Council of Salt Lake City, the Trapper Trails Council of Ogden and the Utah National Parks Council of Orem.
Utah Boy Scouts lost more than 400-thousand young people from its ranks when the LDS Church left to create its own youth program at the start of this year.
