Utah businessman facing federal fraud charges
A Utah businessman faces federal charges for fraudulently promoting products he claimed could prevent and treat COVID-19.
U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber doesn't mince words when describing how he feels about claims made online by Gordon Pedersen.
Court documents from the U.S. Attorney's Office show that Pedersen and two companies, GP Silver and My Doctor Suggests, promoted silver products as a treatment on YouTube, podcasts and websites.
According to prosecutors, Pedersen's website gave him the appearance that he is a physician, even though he is not a licensed medical provider in Utah.
