Utah governor pushing for public education funding

Governor Gary Herbert will push for a big boost in public education funding as part of his budget proposal.

The Governor plans to ask lawmakers for four-point-nine-billion dollars.

The proposed increase in spending comes after the Utah Legislature approved the tax reform package last month, slashing income taxes in favor of increased taxes for sales and services.
