Utah Governor Gary Herbert visits St. George to survey flood damage
Governor Gary Herbert made an unplanned trip to the St. George area on Monday to survey the damage from last night’s rain storm and flash flooding.
The Governor and St. George City Mayor Jon Pike as well as St. George Police Chief Kyle Whitehead, St. George Fire Chief Robert Stoker and others toured some of the hardest hit areas of the City including the large sink hole in front of the Ramada Inn on St. George Blvd.
The St. St. George City Mayor has declared a local state of emergency due to the flooding.
